Lush Face Mask

I absolutely love Lush products, and their face masks are certainly no exception. I received one of the fresh face masks for Christmas off my mum. I hadn't tried the fresh masks before, so was excited to try it.

This particular mask is called Brazened Honey and certainly didn't disappoint. It's £5.95 for this tub, but you get so many applications out of it. I managed to get around 8 applications from the tub with generous amounts each time and there was still some left when it went out of date!

Firstly it smells amazing, like a floral honey smell. The consistency is quite thick but doesn't feel too heavy on the skin. When washing the mask off, it gently exfoliates your skin. Immediately after using this my skin felt amazing and so soft to the touch.

The best thing about this mask is using it straight from the fridge. It feels so cool and refreshing on your skin, and is really easy to apply straight from the tub.

This particular mask is designed to rejuvenate tired skin, so it really was perfect for January when I was trying to detox after Christmas. Mine went out of date a couple of weeks ago now, but it will definitely be my first purchase when I'm next out shopping. I'm actually really missing using it!

Also, Lush do a similar service to Mac, where if you keep your empty tubs and return 5 of them to the store, they will give you a free mask. Amazing!

Anyone else tried this mask, or any others from Lush? Do you love them as much as I do? :)

Rimmel Apocalips

Rimmel are releasing a new lip product called Apocalips tomorrow, and I know it has been greatly anticipated in the beauty world and full of promise.

I was very excited to see that my local Boots actually had some in store today! They had all the colours to test, but not many to buy until tomorrow. After swatching all the colours, I purchased the shade 'Apocaliptic' which is the most gorgeous bright pink. Another shade I will definitely be picking up is Celestial. A really pretty darker pink/peach colour.

On first impressions, I think I'm going to really like this range of lip products. Rimmel are really proving what a grand beauty brand they are at the moment. These glosses are kind of half between a lipstick and a gloss, as they are really highly pigmented but still have a lovely shine to them. The applicator has a little reservoir in it to ensure you get enough product which is a great feature.

They come in 8 great shades at the moment, and at the price of £5.99 are an absolute bargain! Make sure you nip to your local drugstore tomorrow to pick up these little beauties as I can see them selling out in the very near future.

Anyone else tried these yet? What do you think?

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Dupe?

I think we're all familiar with Bobbi Brown's gorgeous range of make up, and especially the best selling and so popular Shimmer Brick compact. I've wanted one of the shimmer bricks for a long time now, but at £32, and having other products in my collection that are similar, it's stopped me from running out and purchasing.

The compact pictured here is in the colour 'Bronze' which I've always preferred as it has the prettiest mix of browns, reds, but still has the lighter colours. These compacts really do have the most gorgeous shimmer to them, and look so pretty on a night out and are perfect for popping in your handbag.

I was out shopping with my friend in Sheffield, when I came across a brand I hadn't seen before in Superdrug called 'Famous'. I've never seen this in the Manchester store, and it has such a great range of products for reasonable prices. I saw a range of shimmer bricks, under the brand 'Shining Star'.

All the compacts are named after lady pop icons. I got mine (which I couldn't help picturing in the lovely snow) in the shade 'Lady Shimmer', presumably after Lady Gaga. You can also pick these up in Mariah, Rihanna and Beyonce. Anyway, a quick swatch in store told me that this product gave the most gorgeous shimmer and was very highly pigmented. I also love that the compact has a mirror, perfect for taking on nights out.

The great thing about this product is the price. They are normally £6.49, which is great, but I picked this up in the sale when it was just £3.24! Amazing!

You can view all this range in certain Superdrug stores, or online on the Famous website. I love this compact and will definitely be trying a few more items from the line soon.

As for whether it's a true dupe of the Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks? I can't say as I don't own the Bobbi Brown one, but I haven't got a bad word to say about this product and think if your on a budget, it seems like a perfect substitute. Although I do think the darker colours from Bobbi Brown look more wearable for the paler skin, but again, this is just my opinion.

Let me know if anyone has tried both and has a preference? :)
