Urban Decay Smoked 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils

I was in the market for some new eyeliners, and spotted this Urban Decay set on Look Fantastic’s website a few weeks ago. I’d heard great things about these liners and they certainly didn’t disappoint when I tried them out.

The set holds six mini eyeliners from the Urban Decay range including two limited edition colours. The colour range is fantastic as they have a good mix of wearable shades against brighter shades, and some matte, some shimmery finishes. They are so soft and super pigmented, and they’re probably the easiest liners I’ve used when creating a smoky eye effect. They are waterproof so last really well on the lash line as well as the water line.

L-R - Uzi, Zero, Demolition, Smog, Empire, Mainline.
This set includes the colours Uzi (gunmetal taupe with silver glitter), Zero (standard black matte), Demolition (deep brown matte), Smog (Copper), Empire (dark eggplant with satin finish) and Mainline (dark green/blue matte).

I’d heard people compare these to the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohls and I have to admit, they are incredibly similar, so if you were wanting a cheaper option you could definitely check those out. However I think this set is perfect, as you can own a little of each colour and finish, all for £26. What I love is that all the colours are really useable, normally there’s always a couple I don’t use in a set as there too bright for me, but Urban Decay have definitely got it right here. This set is basically all you require for your eyeliner needs.

I have enjoyed using these eyeliners so much, that I have decided to purchase another set to giveaway on my blog. My first giveaway, how exciting! I’ll be posting details on how you can enter that in the next couple of days, so keep checking back for more information! :)

Yves Saint Laurent Supershock Eyeliner

I went on holiday recently and picked up this little beauty in duty free. I've wanted to try it for a while now, as the Shocking mascara is one of my all times faves. As it turns out they make a great combo!

The packaging is gorgeous as always with YSL products (and to be honest it should be for the price tag!). This ink liner glides on and gives a really precise finish, especially when using to flick out the liner on your upper lash line. It's so wearable, even with a natural eyeshadow look, and didn't smudge or move on me all day. I seriously had to double check it wasn't waterproof!

At £24 it is extremely pricey for an eyeliner, but it definitely does the job, and the tip seems to stay in pristine condition after many applications.

I'm not gonna lie, it's very similar to the Loreal Superliner, which is obviously a hell of a lot cheaper. But overall, I'm really enjoying wearing this liner at the moment. You can pick it up from Boots here if your interested in trying it out.

Anyone given this a go? What's your verdict?

Illamasqua Sale

I'm a BIIIG fan of Illamasqua, so was very excited when I got an email to say there was a sale on with up to 60% off products! Wow! There were products starting from just £5, then ranging upwards. After a looong time browsing all the make up, then adding, removing, then re-adding several items from my basket, I finally made my purchase.

I bought 2 sheer lipglosses, a lipstick and a pencil. Illamasqua also sent me a sample of their perfume 'Freak' which I thought was a nice touch as you don't often get that with an order. I have to also give some praise; I had to get in touch with Illamasqua customer service before my delivery arrived and they were amazing, incredibly helpful. Just what you want from a beauty brand. I was also lucky enough to be given a £5 voucher off Illamasqua for entering a Glossybox competition, so all in all, very impressed with the website service. I normally purchase Illamasqua products from department stores.

Left to Right, Sheer Lipgloss in Rouse and Electrify, Lipstick in Wanton and Fat Pencil in Perverse
As you can probably see, I'm a fan of my 'pinky' colours and that's the theme I went with for this particular order. The lipglosses are incredibly sheer but do give a lovely tint of colour, perfect for day wear, over a lipstick or just when you want that very natural glossy look. I wore the lipstick while wearing MAC's Star Violet eyeshadow as the main colour on my eyes and got a lot of people saying they really complimented each other. I bought the pencil mainly to use on the eye, even though Illamasqua do say you can use it as a highlighter as well, I'm yet to try this product but I LOVE the colour.

So all in all, very happy with my mini Illamasqua sale purchase. As I say, I don't normally purchase a lot of make up online as the colours never look the same, but I love the colours I bought. Are you a fan of Illamasqua? Let me know your favourite products! :)

Saturday Haul

OK, so I think most of us have a slight obsession when it comes to shopping, but I think mine may be getting out of hand. Popped in to my local town on Saturday to go to the post office (yes... just the post office) and just couldn't resist Boots or Superdrug. These are the only two shops in my local town that you'd probably have heard of... anyway, I couldn't help myself. Here's what I bought.

L'oreal's Nude Magique BB cream

I had originally intended to purchase the Maybelline BB cream for summer, however since the sun has only reared it's head recently I decided to opt for this BB cream instead to try. It was £9.99 from Boots and I got mine in the shade Medium which seems perfect for my skin tone. It comes out as a white cream with little dots in it, these dots are what L'oreal call 'Smart Pigment Capsules'. Once you start applying this to your skin, the cream transforms in to a light covering foundation that blends and hydrates your skin. I've only worn this the once so far, but I'm really liking it for summer coverage.

imPRESS Press on Manicure

I am totally addicted to these press on nails for nights out at the moment. They are so quick and easy to use. I was a bit of a sceptic at first after using glue on nails in the past which seem to fall off after an hour, but these stay on for daaaaays! I saw this cute design and couldn't resist. This design is called Chic Mystique and I purchased them from Superdrug as they were a pound cheaper than boots! :)

Barry M Lip Paints

I picked up these two lipsticks from the Barry M range as they have an offer at the moment where you can get 2 for £7! I've never tried Barry M lipsticks before so I must admit I was a little sceptical. I normally prefer moisturising lipsticks as my lips get so dry, but I thought I would give these a go anyway! I bought the shades 53 Coral and 151 Sunset. I have worn the Sunset shade which seemed to dry my lips out just slightly, so I teamed it with a lipgloss which helped. Looking forward to trying these lip sticks out a bit more! See swatches below.

L'oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick

I picked this Lipstick up as there was an offer on L'oreal products, where if you bought a product you got the second for half price. So after purchasing my BB cream I got this lipstick for the delightful price of £3.99! The shade I got is Fashionista Pink and is from Boots again (gotta love those advantage card points!). It's an incredibly sheer moisturising lipstick with a tint of baby pink. I've worn this a few times already since Saturday and I love it for a day to day lipstick, especially in summer. Left my lips feeling in a great condition as well! See a swatch above!

Collection 2000 Shimmer Shades Blushalicious Blusher

No.7's blusher in Damson has been a staple favourite of mine for the summer months, but I decided I fancied a change. I had originally picked up a Rimmel blusher which also combined four shades, but then saw this one and realised it was half the price and I also liked the colours better! It was only £3.99 from Boots. I normally don't look at the Collection 2000 range, only to repurchase my lasting perfection concealer, but I'm sure glad I did as I think this may be my new fave summer blush! There is a slight shimmer to the shades but for a subtle day look, the shimmer isn't too overwhelming.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch

I have been looking for a high street highlighter for such a long time, but never found anything worth purchasing. Even though I normally prefer a powder highlighter, (this one is liquid based), the colour was so lovely I thought I would give it a try. I bought mine from Superdrug for £4.99 in the shade Shimmering Sands, they also do a Rose coloured one. I tried this very briefly and although it isn't the most noticeable highlighter I've ever used, it certainly brightened up my cheek and brow bones.

MUA Intense Glitter Eyeliner

I have to say, I'm a BIG fan of MUA products. They definitely win the 'budget make up award' in my opinion. I bought this eyeliner in Jade Jewel for £1 from Superdrug and I absolutely love the colour. It's really pigmented and glides on so easily, even over eyeshadow on the top lash line. I tried this gently blended in to my lash line with MAC's Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow and it looked really great. Definitely brightened up the look for summer, and was a nice change to my gel eyeliner i normally wear. All in all, I'm a fan of MUA products when on a budget!
